Meet Julie
Before assuming the role herself, Julie worked side‐by‐side with former Development Director, Grace Ketchum, as a volunteer on the Camp Daggett marketing committee. Not only is Julie a mom who has watched her children thrive at camp; she was also a dedicated volunteer. Julie’s understanding of camp’s past and vision of what is next make her an integral part of the Camp Daggett team.
Julie is a proven leader in program development. In each of her professional roles, she has steered financial growth and transformation. Over her 14 years with the Petoskey News-Review, she was tasked with taking print news online as the first “convergence” editor. Her team experienced exceptional success in readership and advertising growth. She then led the charge to a new revenue model for Northern Michigan Review with a digital sales team. After transitioning to Mitchell Graphics, Julie was tasked with shaping a legacy print model into a responsive digital print space with campaign planning, branding, and outcome-driven partnerships and projects.
She is an Ann Arbor native and a 2000 graduate of the University of Michigan with a double major in French and Communications. Locally, she completed the Leadership Little Traverse program. Julie lives in Boyne City, is married to Jason Joles, and has four children. She loves to go to the beach, camp, read and spend time with friends and family.
